OOTD Afternoon Tea Dress

I've only really dabbled in the odd outfit post on here, but this summer, poor Scott has been roped in to taking outfit photos on a regular basis! I don't if it's because we've had such a good run of nice bright weather or if it's because I feel like I've been living in pretty dresses, but I feel as though I have so many blogworthy outfits to share!

This dress in particular has been one of my favourites over the summer. As soon as I saw the colour I literally fell in love with it! Its such a beautiful duck egg blue, with a cute cotton flower print all over it. The cut is almost perfection! I wouldn't be unhappy if it the skirt was slightly longer, but still, there's enough length for me to feel comfortable enough without tights on (yes come winter I will be wearing this dress with tights!). At first I wasn't fantastically keen on the keyhole detail at the front, but initially I bought my usual size, and then I realised that it was too big which was why it was gaping. I do still have to have the occasional bra-peeking check though! The fabric is lovely and soft and floaty, and the ruched arms and covered button detail at the back just add to the overall design.

I wore these navy wedges this particular day, which on reflection were probably a bit clumpy really, it needs some nice round toed mary jane's I think, but it works equally well with white sandals.

I somehow inadvertently made the faux-pas of wearing head to toe Primark though (I know, no one else can believe it's Primark either!) including the shoes and the belt. I tried to add a bit of expense in my cardigan though, which thankfully wasn't Primark!

You may notice my hair is slightly longer and darker in these photos. This is my usual shade when it has first been coloured, and I've recently had extensions put through the front of my hair so my hair is fuller and thicker for my wedding day style - I had my hair trial the day after I took these pictures, although I still have the extensions in and just cannot get used to them! Anyone got any tips?

  2. I absolutely love this outfit. I'd never have thought this was a Primark dress if you'd not said! I think your hair looks lovely here as well.
